Year Two
At Frodingham Infants we build on all the learning from Year One and EYFS in our last year in school and we make sure we prepare the children for their next step in their junior schools. Our lessons are more formal, but still have practical, fun experiences at their heart. We learn more about the world around us and end the year in style with a visit to the seaside at Cleethorpes.

Little Wandle phonics
In Year Two, we continue the phonics journey using the data from Year One. Any child at risk of falling behind will begin catch up phonics interventions. We complete phase 5 phonics and then move on the Bridge For Spelling, where we learn about the spelling rules and applying our phonics knowledge in our writing. There is a main focus on fluency in reading and we continue at least three reading sessions a week to promote a love of reading.
