Safeguarding

Every year in September, all staff complete update training on safeguarding in schools.  This also included Child Protection Awareness update training.

Thorough risk assessments are carried out during all activities to protect children and staff's health and safety at all times.

Our Pastoral Team

The Pastoral team at Frodingham Infants consists of Miss Smith as the Pastoral Manager and Mr Severns as the Pastoral Support Assistant.

Mr Severns is a trained ELSA practitioner (Emotional Literacy Support Assitant).  The ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) intervention was originally developed within Southampton, then Hampshire, by Sheila Burton, Educational Psychologist. It was designed to build the capacity of schools to support the emotional needs of their pupils from within their own resources. This is achieved by training teaching assistants to develop and deliver individualised support programmes to meet the emotional needs of children and teenagers in their care. It recognises that children learn better and are happier in school if their emotional needs are also addressed. This intervention is now widely implemented by educational psychologists across Britain.

Miss Smith is completing her Senior Mental Health Lead Training, in order to support pupils, parents and staff and further develop the work already taking place in school.

We are here to ensure that all children and families are happy, safe and have a sense of belonging to our school community. We work together to identify and remove barriers to education, using the following targeted approaches' Social, Emotional, Behavioural, Academic and Mental Health. If you would like more information on how support can be accessed, please contact the school office on 01724 842408.
